
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1974. I have been a full-time woodworker for 45 years and have been teaching woodworking almost as long. My shop is located outside of Wake Forest, NC.
Most recently I received the Craftsman of the Year award at the Village of Yesteryear at the N.C. State Fair in 2016.
At the Raleigh Environmental Awards in 2017 I was recognized for a decade of craftsmanship and for demonstrating environmental stewardship.
In 2017 I received second place at the Handcrafted show at the Maria V. Howard Art Center in Rocky Mount, N.C.
The Joyce Wilkins Pope Award, which is the Grand Prize, was awarded to me at the 2018 Raleigh Fine Arts Show for my piece titled “Chair”.
